I must admit I am not the best photographer.But, this camera has been great!!! I have had it for almost 3 years and it is still wonderful (a little cracked but wonderful) :) I took this camera on a trip four six months across Europe, and it NEVER let me down.Battery life is excellent. I don't know about the newer models, I am looking into this now for my next trip.Good luck!.
